About

Kim Honeycutt graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and then received a Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina. After years of working in secular facilities, Kim wanted to be more open about her life as a Christ-centered, recovered alcoholic. As a result, she founded Peer in Psychotherapy Center in 2005, a Christ-centered psychotherapy organization open to anyone seeking emotional healing.

As a psychotherapist, Kim provides individual services at her Huntersville office. In addition to providing therapy, she also has been published in several magazines including My School Rocks, Static, and Charlotte Woman. Her speaking engagements include TEDx-Charlotte, Myers Park High School, Substance Abuse Prevention Services Center, Providence High School, Independence Hill Baptist Church, Mosaic Church, Grace Crossing Church, Grace Charlotte Church, Grace Covenant Church Women’s Ministry, icuTalks, Watershed Church, Overflow Addictions Ministry, and Columbia College. In addition, she has been a guest on several podcasts, including The Church Needs Therapy, The Collected, Rethinking God with Tacos, and The Relentless Podcast. Currently, Kim is on the teaching team at Watershed Church.

Kim is the founder and executive director of icuTalks, a mental health speaking ministry. icuTalks is a therapeutic community that meets at Watershed Church quarterly. To discover more about icuTalks and to view resources to icuTalks.org.

In 2020, the year of hell, Kim decided to start her own podcast called Flip Your Lid in hopes of providing people with another free resource for therapeutic strategies, information, and healing. It is available on iTunes, Spotify, and all the other cool spots.

Kim was rated second in a “best list” of psychotherapists in the Charlotte area by Charlotte Fitness Lifestyles for 2018. She has made regular appearances on television and has been featured on National Public Radio. Her book, But Your Mother Loves You: How to Overcome the Cycle of Toxic Love and Live Your Life Without Shame, is available at your favorite retailer. If you want an autographed copy, you can order right here on her website! The ebook format is ready for download from iBooks or Amazon, and an audiobook version is also available.

Outside of working and serving the community, Kim is married and has two little dogs who have no idea they are canine!
